In the face of adversity some people struggle through and others somehow thrive. At 34- years-old, East Midlands businesswoman, Becky Virgo has faced more then her fair share of tough challenges and is living proof that people can be incredible.

 

A near fatal brain haemorrhage left Becky without sight, balance, control over half of her body and many internal functions. Becky, based in Glossop in the High Peak district of Derbyshire, provides a range of therapies from hypnotherapy to life coaching, designed to help improve people’s lives. Now with the joint help of the regional Business Link service and the Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership (DDEP), Becky is identifying suitable funding options to develop her business and is having regular review meetings with her adviser to make sure the business stays on track to be a huge success.

People who have the star sign Virgo are supposed to be the most successful and confident in their lives. Well a thriving Glossop businesswoman who faced a near fatal brain haemorrhage ten years ago is taking her name by storm.

Thirty-four year old, Becky Virgo has faced more than her fair share of ups and downs in her life - but from rock bottom of being close to death - she has risen to the challenge of starting her own business.

Becky's future was to be a secondary school drama teacher ten years ago, but the brain haemorrhage interrupted those plans and it as touch and go as to whether Becky would survive.

For six weeks Becky was in a coma and miraculously came round, but without sight, balance, control over half of her body and many of her internal functions.

The Johari Window  was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built up.
